Associate Professor Lorna Hallahan
Associate Professor Lorna Hallahan joined the Independent Advisory Council in 2025. From the early 1980s she has practiced as a social worker in a range of settings. Associate Professor Hallahan has been a leader in social work education and research for almost two decades and is currently Social Work Discipline Leader for ACAP University College in South Australia.
Over many years, Associate Professor Hallahan has developed an extensive portfolio in national and state social policy advocacy and advice, including during the early days of developing and evaluating the NDIS.
Associate Professor Hallahan was Senior Research Advisor to the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability.
